FORD TRUCKS IN THE WORLD OF...

Television

  • On "TV Land" they show reruns of "Petticoat Junction." Believe it or not Sam Drucker (General Store owner) of Petticoat Junction/Green Acres fame drives a 1953 Ford F100 on the tv show. It isn't seen very often, but it is a real gem. It is blue! (Submitted by Bob Hersperger)

Music

  • The country group Shenandoah had a song called "Church on Cumberland Road," a story about a mad dash to the chapel with the groom and buddies all in a Ford truck. (Submitted by Arin McKay)
  • Joe Diffie's "Pick Up Man" video has a boat load of Ford trucks in it. (Submitted by Arin McKay)

Celebrity Owners

  • Sam Walton owned and drove a Ford truck for years. It is on display in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Movies

  • "Patch Adams" with Robin Williams contains many Ford Rancheros and Falcons. (Submitted by golfengary@aol.com)
  • In the Charles Bronson movie "Mr. Majestik," he thrashed a late 60s Ford pickup, and it still drove at the end. (Submitted by Luis Alvarez and Terry)
  • Bob owns the 1972 Ford F-100 that is seen in the movie "Wild Things" with Kevin Bacon and Matt Dillon. The truck was used in the bar scene; it was parked out front of the bar. It is a 1972 F-100 351 4 bolt main Cleveland C6 auto shortbed.
