- In the late 80s, Chris Isaak (at least back
then) drove a 63 Chevy II 2- door sedan. It had all of the side
trim removed and filled in and also the simulated little scoops
in the front fenders (62-65 only) were smoothed over. It was
white and seemed pretty stock. (Submitted by Perry)

- There is a Chevy ll convertible used in House
Party 3 (2 or 3). (Submitted by Dev
Mckinley)
Name Origins
- The name Nova is really an acronym for the
names of the other X bodies. GM did this because they couldn't
think of a new name for the Chevy 2 when they redesigned it.
(Submitted by HN33486@aol.com)
- The Chevy II came in 3 series, the 100 series,
the 300 series and the 400 Nova series. All 400 series Chevy
II's were called Novas. By 1968, the 100 and 300 series models
were gone and they were all called Chevy II Novas. The Chevy
II name was then dropped completely after 1968 (one year after
the redesign), and all 1969's were called just Nova. While the
name Nova does contain the the first letters of the other GM
X-body cars there is no proof that this was intentional. (Submitted
by Scott
Windle)
Other
- We currently do not have any miscellaneous
items about Novas or Chevy IIs, but we welcome your submissions.
